Xavier Intes, professor of biomedical engineering and co-director of the Biomedical Imaging Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been promoted to Fellow of the Society by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics.

SPIE annually promotes select members as new fellows. This year, SPIE will honor 88 new Fellows of the Society. This honor is given to members who have “made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging,” according to the society.

This promotion recognizes achievements by Intes in translational biophotonics.
